Encore Electric Certified as Healthy Business Leader
Health Links™ recognizes Encore Electric for creating culture of health and safety
Lakewood, Colo., – Oct. 9, 2017 — Encore Electric is proud to announce that the company has been recognized as a Health Links Certified Healthy Business Leader in 2017. Health Links is a signature program of the Center for Health, Work and Environment at the Colorado School of Public Health. The program recognizes businesses around the state for their excellence in workplace health and safety.
Encore Electric has been recognized for its wellness and safety program’s vision, guidelines and employee engagement efforts. It starts with small things, like providing fresh fruit for employees at the company’s Lakewood headquarters or a challenge program providing water bottles to employees to prompt them to stay hydrated.
But the big things are what really make a difference. They include prompting employees to get an annual yearly health screening to obtain a discount on their health insurance, and holding a safety meeting on every job site every day before work starts.
Other aspects of the program include informational emails that go out weekly to all employees – one about wellness and a ‘Safety Minute’ that challenges Encore Electric to take a minute out of their day for safety.
“Safety is important to Encore Electric for many reasons,” said Jack Cain, Health and Safety Manager at Encore Electric. “But maybe the most important of those reasons is because we care that our people go home to their families every day after work. We take the trust our employees place in us very seriously.”
By embracing wellness and safety, Encore Electric supports their employees whether they are on the jobsite, in the office or enjoying life with their families. As a Healthy Business Leader, Encore hopes to set a good example for other businesses, especially other specialty and general contractors.
“Programs like these are part of any excellent company’s culture,” said Cathy Emerson, Benefits Manager at Encore Electric. “This is a deciding factor when potential employees look at going to work for a great employer.”
